These designs, typical of autumn season are best for the Autumn person. Leaves, woods, animal prints, geometric with power, flowers with sharp petals, and most of all paisley patterns, which enhance the appearance of Autumns.

Fabrics

Fabrics that give the Autumn impression are tweed, nubby surfaces, gold lame, heavy cotton and hand woven effects. Leather which is, left rough in texture is better than fine finishes, such as patent leather. Wools, knitted sweaters and skirts all depict Autumn in its most natural setting.

Accessories of Autumn

The color design of an Autumn person is rich and smooth, almost metallic gold. This is the Season which might choose accessories with rich golds, brass, used in belts, purses and shoes. These give interest and chic to Autumn. Silver does not say 'enough' for Autumn types. Jewelry settings of gold and brass, surround precious gemstones in warm colors. The inner personality seems aware of just how to accessorize their wardrobe pieces. Scarves, when in style, are perfect for this Seasons' type. Flowers and ribbons are not as good for this rich Seasonal typing.

How To Use Your Autumn Colors

Basically, there four types of Autumns. Because of your blending with another Season or two, you may not have the typical look expected of an Autumn. You can have any color of hair and be an Autumn, but your hair and your complexion will be in the color range for the use of gold undertoned colors or those colors that bring out gold in your complexion. Do not use the colors from the Season you are blended with, stay in your own Color Fan. You might want to follow some of these suggestions, focusing colors for your own special body harmony.

Redheaded or Very Metallic-Brown Haired Autumn (Absolute Autumn)

The entire Autumn Color Fan blends and works for you. Because your red hair is more of a color than a neutral, you will benefit from the earth toned colors in the Fan. (Find Warm Autumn people in the book Color Me A Season by Bernice Kentner.) You may create a complete outfit by choosing only neutrals such as rust, tan, dark warm browns, and rusts or tans. Greens and turquoises in the teal range go perfectly with your hair and eyes. The blues in the Fan work well, because they complement the orange in your hair and eyes. Sophistication is your look and it is achieved with fabrics that have richness or texture to them. Your prints are good in nature designs, paisley, some stripes and plaids. Monochromatic color schemes are very good for you. Autumns excel in accessorizing their clothing.

Brunette or Silver-Grey Autumn (Gentle Autumn)

This type of Season is sometimes put in Summer Colors. You will, however use your lighter colors on the Autumn Fan strips. Light tans are perfect on a blonde of your Season. You will be able to use the grey colors and lighter brown hues. Use your cosmetic colors in 13 mid to bright tones. Try blues, greens, oranges, light golds, and light turquoises for a softer look. Pure violet is a lovely choice.

Blonde Autumn (Golden Autumn)

You may seem more Spring than Autumn but your temperament type will go to the Autumn colors. You are however, one who may use some of the Spring colors but used in leaf and nature patterns.

Dark Brunette Autumn (Bronzed or Striking Autumn)

Often mistaken for a Winter you will use your 15 Bouquet strip colors in your Fan which will be beautiful on you because your hair coloring needs the darker colors in your Fan. Be careful to choose an off white rather than a pure white (which is Winter's white). For accessories use a yellow-black or a very dark brown. Take advantage of Autumn's navy blue. You can build an entire wardrobe around it. This will bring balance to your wardrobe. You are not the paisley print type. You will look better in the prints of Winter when you can find them done in Autumn's colors. Stripes and bold designs are great. Simplicity of design is as good on you as it is on Winters. Elegant types of fabric show off your warmth and elegance at the same time. Your Autumn Fan contains many color selections, and we want you to feel free to use these colors as you like.

When putting colors together, follow the instructions in this booklet. Build your wardrobe around some favorite neutral colors. It is especially easy to create a beautiful wardrobe in the Autumn colors. The colors are created in richness as well as many types of fabric.
